Venus Transit 2012

20120524-171027.jpg

The rarest of astronomical events is back once again. The Venus transit of the sun. It’ll be a once in a lifetime event. If you miss this one, the next transit will be a 100 over years away.

We are lucky. The transit will be visible from Singapore. The date and time? The 6th of June, from sunrise till noon-ish

There are a number of locations here in Singapore organizing sessions where you may go view the transit. I’ll post them when I get home. In the meantime, you can take a look at the little FAQ/info sheet I drew.

For more information, check out this FAQ written for a Singaporean context. Also there is information on observation sessions being held at various locations around the country. Also, some of us are getting together at Bishan Park McDonald’s for a gathering and to view the transit. Feel free to join in any one of the sessions!
